Shasta trip

We took a trip up to Lake Shasta with some friends. It was a LONG drive! It amazes me that we can drive for 10 hours and still be in the same state. The kids have never been to northern California though, it was fun to experience it with them. We stopped for lunch in Sacramento. We got DELICIOUS sandwiches from this place called the Sandwich Spot, then ate on the capitol lawn.
The house we stayed at was a lot of fun! I think it was designed for 16 people (and we had 26), but we just had some kids on the floor and it worked out ok. The older boys especially loved the game room.
There was a great deck and big backyard
and lots of places for the kids to gather.
We rented a party boat, and it was fun to chug around the lake.
The Hannons brought their boat as well, the kids loved knee boarding!
They also spent a lot of time on the paddle boards and kayaks.
Bridge jumping was Brendan's favorite part of the trip.
the moms got in on the action as well!
Carson and Kyle were pretty much inseparable the whole trip.

18 kids in one house is a lot, but I think they all had a lot of fun!
On the way home, we stopped in San Francisco. We saw the Golden Gate bridge, and walked across part of it.

We drove down Lombard St and went to Fisherman's Wharf.
We saw a couple of street performers, this one magician was pretty impressive and Whitney got to be in the show! When he started swallowing pins though Sabrina couldn't watch :>)
We are went by Ghiradelli square where we got a bunch of delicious and overpriced ice cream. Carson was exhausted and crabby, and spent the ENTIRE TIME crying under the table. What is vacation without crabby kids??? Overall it was a great trip though!
