Wyatt's Homecoming

On our way back from San Francisco, we met Wyatt and his family at In'n'Out right after he got off the plane. We missed him the last couple of years!
On Sunday we went to hear him speak, he has always been a great kid but it's fun to see how much they grow up while on their mission. Literally as well, I think he is a good inch or 2 taller than when he left! It was fun to see the comparison of him with the kids from before he left.

Shasta trip

We took a trip up to Lake Shasta with some friends. It was a LONG drive! It amazes me that we can drive for 10 hours and still be in the same state. The kids have never been to northern California though, it was fun to experience it with them. We stopped for lunch in Sacramento. We got DELICIOUS sandwiches from this place called the Sandwich Spot, then ate on the capitol lawn.
The house we stayed at was a lot of fun! I think it was designed for 16 people (and we had 26), but we just had some kids on the floor and it worked out ok. The older boys especially loved the game room.
There was a great deck and big backyard
and lots of places for the kids to gather.
We rented a party boat, and it was fun to chug around the lake.
The Hannons brought their boat as well, the kids loved knee boarding!
They also spent a lot of time on the paddle boards and kayaks.

Bridge jumping was Brendan's favorite part of the trip.
the moms got in on the action as well!
Carson and Kyle were pretty much inseparable the whole trip.

18 kids in one house is a lot, but I think they all had a lot of fun!

On the way home, we stopped in San Francisco. We saw the Golden Gate bridge, and walked across part of it.

We drove down Lombard St and went to Fisherman's Wharf.
We saw a couple of street performers, this one magician was pretty impressive and Whitney got to be in the show! When he started swallowing pins though Sabrina couldn't watch :>)
We are went by Ghiradelli square where we got a bunch of delicious and overpriced ice cream. Carson was exhausted and crabby, and spent the ENTIRE TIME crying under the table. What is vacation without crabby kids??? Overall it was a great trip though!

Summer Rainstorm

It was a hot and muggy day. We were hanging out inside, I looked out and it was all overcast and windy. I made a comment how it looked like it would rain, and my kids laughed like I was being ridiculous. Sure enough, within a minute or 2 it started pouring. It didn't last very long, but they sure had fun for a bit! And I appreciated the fact that it dropped the temperature to 96 from 111 :>)

Beach Day

When Kristi was in town, we went down to the beach with Mom and Aunt Deanne. It was a lovely day!

Later that night the girls wanted to have a sleepover in the bonus room with Kristi, they are pretty cute when they are sleeping :>)

4th of July

We went to the pancake breakfast at church on the 4th of July, the kids had fun at the bike parade!

Kristi was at our house which makes it even more fun :>)
Rounding these girls up together is a challenge!
Grandma and Grandpa Gray got to town after that, and Grandma Powell and Bob came over as well. We smoked tri tip and made homemade ice cream, it was delicious! Once it got dark we joined the neighbors in the culdesac for fireworks. It was an impressive show!
