Memorial Weekend

Every year I really do try to talk to my kids about WHY we have Memorial Day. This year we decided to do some action to back up our talk! On Saturday we went out to the Riverside National Cemetery to help put flags on all the graves. It was a really neat experience. There are over 200,000 graves there, and SO MANY people showed up to make this happen. You almost couldn't walk fast enough to keep up with everyone, once we started on a section a wave of people would come behind us and the whole section would be done in a minute. Amazing to see! Made me a little emotional.

It was a neat experience that I definitely plan to do again! On Sunday we went to see James and Abbie bless baby Macie. It was fun to see family!
Monday we went to the Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery right just a couple of miles from us. We have lived here how many years and I never knew they did this. It was really nice! There were hundreds of people there, and they had skydivers, a TON of motorcycles doing a parade, a band that our friend Christine payed in, and tons of traditions that I had never heard of before.
One of which was the Missing Man flyover.
We sat behind the Hansens from our ward, and they are pretty darn adorable.
Afterwards we took the kids to see a very patriotic movie :>)

Blueberry Farm

We love the blueberry farm! And their summer movie nights! Rich is usually working but this year he was off when we went and it was great to have him with us.

We watched Inside Out and had a great night with our family!

Weekend with Kristi

Kristi came to visit! And we packed a lot into a few days. She has been talking about getting into triathlons, and I'm planning to do a short one next month, so we went on a bike ride/run. It was fun! Then we ate donuts which was also fun :>)
The next morning we went on a 5 mile hike with Mom at the Santa Rosa Plateau. It was a cool morning and very pretty! We went to the "pools" which are all dried up now but we imagined how pretty they would be with water :>)

That night while the boys were at Father-Sons we had a girls night out. First we got pedicures.
The little girl chairs are seriously the cutest thing ever!

Afterwords we got my favorite Vero's! The girls had a lot of fun in the car with Kristi.

Saturday we went kayaking in Mission Bay. So pretty!

That night we went to a Vocal Point concert, I've never seen them before and they were pretty incredible!

Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day I love that my kids try hard to be nice to each other, and give me lots of hugs, and draw cute pictures for me, and I get to be lazy and make other people do a lot of the work. And Rich doesn't have meetings! It's pretty awesome :>) Rich and the kids brought me muffins in bed, and I opened their sweet cards. Rich got me clip in bike shoes (which I still can't figure out, I think we got something wrong with the cleats. Either that or I'm just lame!) and I am excited to use them.  Mom and Bob came over for dinner and we made Cafe Rio pork salads, yum!
Brendan made me my lovely clay heart necklace :>)

Dance Pictures

The girls had dance pictures at their studio, I'm sure they would be really cute but I didn't want to pay $100+ for both of them so we just went to the park afterwards to take our own. We did them pretty quick and when we got home I realized that for most of Sabrina's she was either not looking at the camera or the shot was out of focus. Clearly I need more practice :>) Next time! They still looked pretty darn cute though.

Ava came with us as well, these little girls sure love each other!
