New Year's

We were so happy that Rich managed to get New Year's Eve off again! Not sure how that happened but we will take it. I used to love spending New Year's with friends but I have gotten to the point where I really enjoy this evening with the kids. They are super excited to stay up til midnight, and still think we are cool to hang out with. I'll enjoy that while it lasts :>) We had all 6 of the Hannon kids over most of the day while they moved (BOO!!!!) so it was nice to relax a bit. We played a lot of Star Wars monopoly. Brendan was quite the businessman! He creamed the rest of us.
We made pazookies and watched movies, and everyone made it up to midnight. Not everyone was happy about it however, Whitney wanted a different cup so she flipped out.
 Happy New Year :>)

Christmas

Christmas is so fun with these kids! They have been looking forward to it for a long time, and been (pretty) good. Santa was nice to them for sure! The kids started coming into our room around 7:20, and down the stairs we went. Sabrina got a Rainbow Dash pony that talks and flips, I did not expect it to be so loved but Rainbow Dash goes everywhere with her and sleeps with her and all day long Sabrina talks about her. It's pretty adorable actually!
 Star Wars legos. Enough said.
Carson got a new bike too, which was well needed! His other bike was super small and falling apart, now he is riding in style :>)
the girls both asked for bows and arrows. PINK ones.
and the boys got all kids of Star Wars stuff. Including a Darth Vader waffle iron which has proved to be a big hit.
Janine and Nathan stayed at our house...

as did Kristi.
Mom and Bob came over for presents and breakfast.
Love this family of mine!
After breakfast we took a walk/bike ride, Kristi and Sabrina were decked out in Thor attire.
In the afternoon we drove out to the Schramm's house for the family get-together. It is always fun to see everyone, we are turning out to be a big group with all the spouses and kids! Great-grandbaby #13 is due in March so the next generation will officially outnumber ours. 10 of the 12 grandkids were able to be there.
and what is Christmas without a game of Mafia?
Uncle Dana seems to have as much energy as he did when we were kids :>) Such a good day!

Jiminy Returns!!!

Our kids get SO EXCITED for Jiminy to come. They were talking about it for weeks leading up to his arrival, and once he was here every morning they would look excitedly for him. Here are pictures of a few of his shenanigans

He called out some naughty kids
he wanted to be the tallest one in the family
 he went ziplining
 he set up our nativity
 banana minions!
and some epic star wars battles. Jiminy spent a lot of time with the Star Wars characters, particularly Darth Vader. Enough so that the boys were concerned he was going to the dark side lol. Til next year Jiminy!

Santa Run

The kids grumbled a bit, but with promises of McDonald's breakfast I convinced them to do the Santa run  5K with me. It was at 8 instead of 7, and quite a bit warmer than the Turkey Trot. They did great!

We saw a few parachutes which was very exciting for them.
Still not cleared for running, but we would jog for a few hundred feet every now and then. They are much happier to walk :>)

No major meltdowns this time, and while none of them really get the point of walking that far ON PURPOSE we had a good morning!

Hike with the Nelsons

We were very excited for the Nelsons to come to town! Our kids haven't seen there kids in about 2 years cause Boston is FAR AWAY!!! But then we had kids puking left and right so we didn't get to see them nearly as much as we wanted to. Boo :<( We were still able to meet up for a hike at the Santa Rosa plateau though! Our few families have a lot of kids! We thought back to a time we had done this same hike quite a few years ago, there were a lot less little bodies back then.

Didn't get any pictures of the boys because they were running off with friends the whole time. That night the adults were able to go out to Wood Ranch for a date night which was great. Until later that night Rich started throwing up too :<( Glad to see Melissa and the family while we could though!

Star Wars

These boys have been counting down to Star Wars for MONTHS. Rich bought tickets way in advance, and when the day finally came Jiminy and Darth Vader worked together to get the boys new shirts.
 They were pretty excited!!!

They came home from the movie and couldn't stop talking about how great it was. In Carson's words it was "epic." Glad he was feeling good, by the time the movie started it had been ALMOST 24 hours since he had thrown up and he seemed to be feeling ok. He would have been so sad to miss it!

Frozen on Ice

When I saw that Frozen on Ice was coming to town, I knew we had to go. I rounded up some friends, and we bought tickets all the way back in JANUARY. I kept it a secret until the last minute, and the girls were super excited. I was a little nervous because Whitney had the stomach flu 2 days before, but everyone seemed to be healthy for well over 24 hours so off we went! We drove with Ilse, Ava, and Camilla which made my girls' day.
We met Kyra and Kim there, these were some excited girls!
Our seats were pretty decent, and we got to see a lot of characters.

Of course Anna and Elsa were their favorite!

Love to see these little friendships :>)
Afterwards we met everyone for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (which was delicious). As we were getting ready to leave I get a call from Rich that Carson came home from school throwing up. Then around midnight it hit Sabrina. No fun :<( Glad it waited til after the show though, because we had a great time!

Gingerbread Houses

Grandma Powell came over and made gingerbread houses with the kids, they had a great time (and apparently also had a great time dressing themselves???)
