Santa

Every year we go see Santa at the Bass Pro Shop. Seriously the Santa there is awesome. And all my kids actually like him now :>)
the girls had very serious conversations with him :>)

it's always fun to walk around there as well!
Love that Mom and Bob get to join us.

Cookie Party

It was my year to host the annual Cookie Party this year. Turned out to be a much smaller group than expected when a bunch of people backed out at the last minute, but we still had a good time!

Tree Decorating

The kids were so excited to put up the tree this year! They are at such a great age right now, they make me happy (most of the time lol!). I really love our tradition of letting them pick an ornament every year. But I don't love the buying process. For some reason, all 4 of them in Kohl's is always a HORRIBLE experience. They just go completely crazy and I end up acting crazy too! Next year we might just buy online :>)  Carson picked Kylo Ren (OF COURSE he did)
 Whitney got Tinkerbell
Brendan got the dinosaur from Jurassic World
and Sabrina got Belle with a horse.
 Love these crazies of mine!!!

Also went bowling with some fun friends today, yay Groupon :>)

Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving!!! Such a great time of year. I have had plans for the last SEVERAL years to make a gratitude tree, this year when Kristi was over I finally got around to doing it. The tutorial said to use pins to keep the tree paper in place, but I didn't want little holes all over my wall so I just used tape. That was probably the wrong choice because the tree spent most of the time looking like this.
I loved it when it was actually ON the wall though :>) And I loved hearing all the things the kids were grateful for!
On Thanksgiving morning I took the kids out bright and early for the turkey trot at 7 am. It was COLD! And for the first time we did it with no stroller. And they made it the whole 5K with no major issues.
the boys even ran for a (small) part of it.
Only issue was when Whitney got mad about something (I don't even remember what, nothing important!). It took a LONG time to talk her off the edge. It didn't help that I was trying to take her picture because she was being so ridiculous it made me laugh!

Best part of the day was that Rich was OFF!!! Can't remember the last time he had Thanksgiving off. We went to Mom and Bob's for dinner with a bunch of Bob's family and had a great afternoon.

the twins sure love their little (step?) cousins! Cute babies!

Date with Carson

Carson finished the green book in piano, so I owed him his choice of lunch (B.J.s). I had a doctor's appointment at UCI, so he came out with me and we got to spend all morning together. After my appointment we drove around the campus a bit to check it out, and he was super excited by it. He thought the "Anteater Express" was especially cool :>) After that we headed to lunch, followed by Pazookies (which is of course the whole reason he wanted B.J.s!).  After that we walked around Toys'R'Us for awhile,  then hit up See's Candy. It was a good day :>) So much fun to spend some one on one time with this kid! He can be SO sweet and affectionate, then turn into a completely crazy person the next. Happy to say he was all sweetness for this day! Honestly, piano can be a struggle with him. Sometimes he seems to love it, but usually he pitches a fit any time I suggest having a lesson (probably a downside of having mom teach you). Sometimes we only do one lesson per month, so progress is slow, but I don't want to push him too hard because I don't want him to completely hate it! Moments like this make me glad we do it though, he SAYS he is really excited for the next book but we will see :>)

Toothless

The little gap-toothed grin gets me EVERY TIME. Love him!!!

Little Shadows

There are days where it feels like no matter WHERE you go, little people are following you around. I try to read a book, someone sits in my lap and blocks my view. I try to cook something, the "helpers" come over and it takes 5 times longer. Not even the bathroom is safe! Sometimes I get frustrated and think "I JUST NEED ONE MINUTE TO MYSELF!!!" They are growing so fast though. Before I know it they will be moody teenagers that want nothing to do with me. They won't want to hold my hand in the parking lot, or all snuggle around me so tightly when watching a movie that I can't move. The girls won't ask me to give 11 each of hugs/bear hugs/nose kisses/regular kisses at bed time. No one will come crying in my room in the middle of the night because they had a bad dream and they need a hug from mommy to feel better. As exhausting as motherhood can be, sometimes I just feel SO BLESSED for the opportunity to have these kids. I'm sure there are a million ways I am screwing them up, but I sure love them!!!

San Juan Loop

We met up with the Gargalis family to do a little hike, we haven't seen them in way too long! Every time I see them I feel like their kids grew another foot.
These two have been buddies since they were just a few months old, we miss having them down the street!
the last time we did this hike there was snow all over the place. It goes a lot faster when the ground is dry. Although we don't get to stop to build snow men :>)
Whitney was saying before we started that her leg hurt, and when we were maybe 1/4 mile from the end she decided she was DONE!
Good thing she has a nice dad to lug her around!
this may have been the most excited my kids have ever been to wash their hands :>)
afterwards we got some lunch and hung out at our house for awhile Such a fun day!

Tiger Ponies

Well the girls' first soccer season is in the books! We signed them up to play with some of their little buddies, 6 of the 7 kids on their team were in our ward so that was a lot of fun. The kids got to pick their team name and somehow they decided on the Tiger Ponies. They were so stinking cute, although every time I yelled "Go Tiger Ponies!" I felt a little ridiculous! I volunteered to make the team banner, and although it took quite a bit longer than I anticipated I loved it!
To be honest, our team wasn't very good. There was a lot of hand holding going on, but they did have fun.
Whitney actually turned out to be a decent player though! A few games in it started to click, and she was super happy whenever she scored a goal! Once game she even had three.
She would get right in there (sometimes throwing a few elbows, we are working on that!) and usually seemed to be where the ball was.

We had a pizza party after the last game, they had a good time but were definitely ready for the season to be over!

They said they didn't want to play again next year, but then they got trophies and now they are all about next season :>)
We didn't have a coach for our team originally, but Meagan stepped up (even though she had a one month old baby) and offered to do it. The girls love her, and I loved snuggling that cute little baby of hers during games and practices!

love these girls!!!
