Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving was a busy but wonderful day! The kids and I woke up bright and early to go to the Turkey Trot (Rich was working). I debated on whether I should bring the stroller or not, glad I did cause Sabrina was in a MOOD and I don't know how we would have survived without it :>)
The boys and I (and Whitney for the most part) ran/walked the 5K, we had a good time for the most part :>)
Then we went to breakfast at our friend's house, and were able to see the Vocana's who were visiting. Breakfast was delicious and the company was fantastic!!!
Then we got cleaned up and dressed to go to my aunt's house for dinner. Always so fun to see everyone!
I got to meet Heather's baby (who is adorable!)
they also blessed her that day, which was a neat thing to witness.

Love our family!!! The next day we set up the tree. This year Brendan picked out a Polar Express bell...
 Sabrina got Hello Kitty...
 Whitney got Princess Sophia...
and Carson picked Hiccup. I really do love this tradition, the kids have so much fun putting their old ornaments on the tree and it makes me happy :>)

Saturday was the Jones' family annual cookie party. We realized while we were there that not a single woman there was a Jones by blood, everyone married into the family. All the official family are in Utah but we still carry on :>) It was fun to spend time with everyone, and of course eat!!!

these cousins have a blast together

some of  the boys went and got pizza during the party and had a great time as well!

It has been quite some time since we took the kids bowling, but I found an AWESEOME groupon ($28 for the 6 of us to rent shoes and bowl for 2 hours, plus a pizza and pitcher of soda, hard to pass up!) so we headed over there one night.
this was the girls' first time, and it was HILARIOUS!!! the balls rolled ever so SLOWLY towards the end, there were times I questioned if it would make it there. Sabrina proved a couple times that you CAN get a gutter ball with the bumpers on
maybe because she insisted on rolling the ball 10 feet before the line :>) The second game we wised up and got a ramp, that helped quite a bit!

The Farm

I went with the twins and their preschool to a field trip at the dairy farm. We have been there many times before and they always have a good time. They had a different gal doing the tour this time, she seemed like she had done a few too many farm tours :>)
They had a lot of fun feeding the baby cows

and loved hanging out with their BFFs (and Brody!)
the milking machine was a big hit too
but of course the BEST part is the chocolate milk!!! Yum.
 These kids are super cute!

Done with Book One

I took Brendan out for ice cream after he finished his first set of piano books, and Carson decided then and there that he wanted to learn piano as well. I was a little reluctant because I wanted to wait til he got a little older, but he was insistent! And wow it was rough. He whined, complained, didn't want to practice, and said it was "too hard." We would both get super frustrated, and I was ready to have him stop for awhile. When he was about 85% through with the first books, I told him I would only teach him (and get ice cream) if he had a good attitude. That seemed to do the trick, and he has done pretty good since then! Now he says, "I LOVE piano!" Sometimes :>) He wanted to go to B.J.s (to eat "that yummy thing that starts with "P"), so the 2 of us headed there for lunch and pazookies. They were delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed having an afternoon with just me and my little man. He is super excited to start the next books, I am hoping this will continue!!!

Veteran's Day

It was really nice for the kids to have a day off mid-week where Rich and I happened to be off as well. We went to a friend's birthday party, then went to see Guardian's of the Galaxy. Afterwards we went and got ice cream. For dinner. Because sometimes that just needs to be done! It was a great day with my family.

Long Duathlon

We had our second event with the triathlon club today, it was a duathlon (5K run, 13 mile bike, 5K run). It is super low key there, I didn't think I was nervous but last night I didn't sleep well and had crazy dreams about the course being in the shape of an evil clown and realizing in the middle of the race that we were in a giant bag of shredded cheese. Ha, guess I was more nervous than I thought! I didn't even finish last this time either. There were 13 competitors (8 women/5 men) and I came in 9th. My final time was 1 hr 52 minutes 52 seconds, which I was happy with. It was the same bike course as last time, and I knocked about 5 minutes off my time (I'm still pretty slow on the bike, but I will take it!). My first 5K was 27:23 and my second was 28:58. Little improvements at a time, and one day I might just be halfway decent at this! Next event is not until next year, hopefully I can get faster. It was super fun to do this with some girlfriends, we definitely motivated each other!
