It's nice to have lots of chances to dress up and get our money's worth out of the costumes! Halloween was Whitney's turn to wear the Belle costume, it is too big for her but she refused to let that stop her :>)

We even got some smiles out of Carson, and not TOO much of a fight getting his costume on (he refused to wear it to school however and wore his costume from last year, apparently it is "less itchy").

Grandma was able to come see the kids in their costume ad brought us donuts and apple cider!

We went to our friends house for the annual Halloween dinner and trick or treating, the kids had a blast! It's nice to have Halloween on a Friday and not have to worry about school the next morning. The girls kept up a lot better that last year, and Rich took the big boys out for some extra candy time. Wow their buckets were full!!! I am enjoying the fruits of their labors ha!

Preschool Party

The twins had a Halloween party at preschool, those kids are all so cute!
They had a parade in the backyard...

and got to "trick or treat"
Glad Kayla was there to take so many nice pictures :>)

afterwards I was able to stay and help out with the party, they played games, decorated pumpkins, and had a good time!

As usual my girls are the only ones who ate all their food lol
we love Miss Janitsy's preschool!!!

Pumpkin Decorating

We had fun decorating our pumpkins! We helped the boys carve designs (next year I think they might be on their own!) and the girls told us what they wanted.
It always seems like so much work when they only last for a couple days in this crazy heat, every year I say I am going to try soaking them in bleach water first to make them last longer and every year I don't!
It really was a nice night with our family, UNTIL bed time rolled around. It was the  World Series finals and Rich told the boys they could stay up a little later to watch it with him. Brendan usually doesn't like to watch sports, and found this to be very unfair. He thought that he should get to pick what HE wanted to watch, and stormed upstairs. Next thing I knew he ran down the stairs and out the front door saying we were the meanest family in the world and he was running away. Rich and I just looked at each other and kind of laughed a bit. I'm sure there are a lot of things we could be doing better, but these kids don't know how good they have it!Rich chased him down the block and brought him home. He was super upset, and it took me awhile to talk him down. I asked him what he thought would happen if he ran away, and his response was that, "Someone will pick me up who RESPECTS me!" Oh boy. We had a LONG talk where I explained that the likelihood of that happening was pretty slim, and emphasized all the dangers involved with that plan. Hopefully he got it out of his system, he has been fine since but that was a little crazy! He is usually pretty level headed and responsible, but he can get super emotional and sometimes I feel like I am dealing with a teenage girl instead of an 8 year old boy! Glad he is home safe though :>)

Trunk or Treat

For Trunk or Treat this year we had some Disney princesses! Whitney was Elsa...
and Sabrina was Belle. The girls fought relentlessly over this costume, so we had to timeshare it :>)
Brendan was a ninja (I bought a size large for him and he barely fit into it. I bought a large last year and had to hem it like six inches. Not sure if it is just a different brand or if he is growing like crazy???)
And Carson wanted to be Rafael. This costume exactly. I went to 2 different stores to find it, then when the time came to wear it he pitched a fit that it was too itchy (even with clothes on underneath) and he cried. And cried. And Lost. His. Mind. Eventually we got it on him but he was NOT happy!!!
 Everyone else was however :>)

Crazy Hair Day

There is only so much you can do with boys on crazy hair day, but we had fun trying! Brendan had black and yellow stripes, Carson had black and green glitter (which is not as easy to see!). They had fun with it though.

Halloween Party

We went to our friends the Andersons for this years' Halloween party, and it was lots of fun! Rich really hates dressing up, but I did convince him :>) We were Jan and Peter Brady.

 Such fun friends we have!!!

Halloween Cookies

The kids always love decorating halloween cookies!

they definitely subscribe to the "more is better" theory when it comes to candy :>)

Yellow Belts

The boys have really been enjoying tae kwon do, and did great at their belt test.

And now they are yellow belts!

They have some good little buddies in the class who are now moving up to the intermediate class. The little guy on the left is a black belt who was sparring with Carson during the test.
 They really love Mr. Gio!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch with the girls' preschool. They had a blast!

Whitney did NOT like the smell in the petting zoo, and kept her jacket over her mouth the breathe. The WHOLE time.

they really love their friends in class!

it was a fun morning with my favorite little ladies!!!
