Witch Party

This was the third year my friend Kyra hosted her annual witch party, and it is always so much fun! We all wear silly witch attire, eat yummy food, hang out with good friends, and make something crafty.
Here is our lovely craft from this year, so grateful to have friends who do awesome stuff like this :>)

Pumpkin Carving

This year, we carved pumpkins at my mom and Bob's house. Rich and the kids went over around 4, and the plan was for me to head over there after work. Problem is we have been super short staffed lately, and I didn't get out until almost 6 and missed the whole thing. Boo :<( They had a lot of fun though!

Rich forgot to take pictures of the final products, but the kids had a great time!

Pumpkin Cookies

We made our annual pumpkin cookies the other day. The girls helped me make them in the morning, and we all decorated them when they boys got home from school! I put out some good sized bowls of candy on the table, and I honestly turned away for less than a minute and it was all gone (but they all had chipmunk cheeks full of it lol). The kids definitely do NOT subscribe to the "less is more" theory, and their cookies were very full of candy :>)

 They were tasty though!

Pumpkin Patch

There is one of those overpriced fake pumpkin patches near our house. It is not as fun as a REAL one, but my kids have been begging to go and I found a good deal online so off we went! They had fun on all of the inflatable slides and bounce houses.
and I had fun with all the little cut outs :>)

We finished off the evening with hot dogs at Costco. It was a fun night with our family!

Ashton and Matt's wedding

We love the Moore family. The are hilarious, and have been such good friends to us. Before the ward split, we would always sit in front of them at church, and I don't know how we would have survived without them when the twins were little! Once Rich got called into the bishopric, I was alone with 4 kids age 4 and under. Every week when I drove up, one of the Moore boys would be outside waiting for me to help lug all my kids in. When we got inside, Terri would always grab one of the twins and my friend Jennifer would grab the other (until they got old enough to just want me!). My kids LOVE them. Their oldest got married, and we were excited to go! I tried to get a sitter since the ceremony was in a cute little church and I didn't want my kids to be disruptive, but there was Homecoming that day and a lot of the teenagers from the ward were going to the wedding. I told Terri we would only be able to make it to the ceremony, and she said we should bring all the kids so we did :>) Rich walked around with the girls during the ceremony just in case, but afterwards we all headed to the reception where there was a wonderful In'n'Out truck and an awesome photo booth :>)

Here are the Moore kids with their dad John, love this family!!!

Muffins with Mom

The boys' school had a "Muffins with Mom" breakfast, so the kids and I headed down. They had a lot of fun, although you wouldn't know it to look at this picture :>)
 Love these kids!

We Miss Our Friends!!!!

It seems like we have had WAY too many friends move away lately, and I am NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT!!! Fortunately, we have had some opportunities to see them however. The Nielsens came to visit for a few days last weekend, and we were lucky enough to have them stay at our house. My kids were SOOO excited!!! The boys went to Home Depot and made rescue airplanes....
we went to the park (while there, some guys set up a GIANT inflatable obstacle course. The kids were all drooling over it, and the guy who ordered it said their party wasn't for awhile so they could jump on it. They were happily playing when all of a sudden one half of it started deflating (one of the blowers went out...I am 99% sure that our kids had nothing to do with it, but I still felt bad when it was time to leave and that nice guy who let them jump wasn't even there to tell what happened...sorry!)
Saturday night we rescheduled the party we had planned for before they left (it got cancelled previously due to a funeral). We had some of their friends over for a little get together, and it was a lot of fun. Rich planned this crazy relay race involving scooters, spinning around baseball bats, and shooting baskets. I was skeptical initially, but it was pretty funny!

I meant to take more pictures but I kind of forgot!
Sunday morning we watched the first conference session with them before they had to go home. We had a yummy breakfast, and TRIED to get the kids to sit still. Not the easiest task :>) We put up a tent for them, and had little books for them to fill out and a game where they got treats if they heard certain words, and it lasted for maybe 5 minutes. Oh well we tried :>)
 We miss their family!!!
After they left we headed over to my cousin's to watch the afternoon session with them and take family pictures. I miss them too! It is almost a 2 hour drive and we don't see them enough.
Then the next day the Nelsons came into town! It was a quick trip, and because of work I really only got to see them on Tuesday, but I will take it! Sad that I forgot my camera but we went to Chik Fil-A and the park and Wood Ranch for dinner (actually we couldn't find a sitter, so I sent Rich to that one so he could see Ryan and eat tri tip). I did get to see her later though :>) I love to see all of these wonderful people that I miss, hope they come visit again soon!!!

Citizen of the Month

Last week we got a note that Brendan was getting an award. We didn't know what it was for (nor did he!) but we headed over to find out! They announced the awards they were giving for each class, and when they talked about the citizenship award they said that this month it was for a student who demonstrated respect. Rich and I looked at each other and laughed a bit, figuring he had disqualified himself from that one (the week before, I got a call from the assistant principal to let me know that Brendan had got in a bit of trouble....I know he plays tag a lot at recess, and apparently there was one little girl he kept tagging on the bottom. Ay yi yi. We had MANY conversations that weekend about appropriate and inappropriate touching....I thought we had that down already but apparently not!). ANYWAYS....that incident aside, apparently he has been very respectful and helpful to his teacher. I like that kind of feedback better :>) Good job buddy!
