Rub a Dub Dub

I sent the boys upstairs to take a bath the other day while I was making dinner. I heard a lot of laughing coming downstairs, so I went to check it out. I guess the girls decided they wanted in on the fun too! It is a tiny tub for four bodies, but they didn't seem to mind :>)
I think Brendan is probably getting a little old to bathe with his sisters, but occasionally if we get home late we will throw them in the tub together. There is always lots of laughs!
I love that my kids love each other!

Memorial Day

My friend Stacey planned a beach trip for Memorial Day. I was nervous about it being super crowded and cold, but it was a beautiful day! It was a new beach that we hadn't tried before but her family loves, and we will definitely be back. The kids had lots of fun playing in the sand!

 many sand angels were made
Rich took Brendan out body boarding (NOT boogie boarding as he informed me...according to Rich, boys boogie board and MEN body board ha ha)

Rich also buried a lot of the kids in the sand. I was waiting for him to be done with all of them to take a picture, but then a big wave came and they all jumped out and that was that :>)
We were there for about 4 hours (long enough to find several spots we missed with our sunscreen!), then we went to the pool with some other friends for dinner. After THAT, we put the kids down and I went to my friend Heather's to watch the premiere of the Bachelorette. Not sure how big a fan I am of Desiree, but I will love watching it anyways with my friends :>) What a good day!

Last Day of Preschool

Carson has really enjoyed preschool this year with Mrs. Rogers. His last day was yesterday, but afterwards I realized that I didn't have any pictures with her so she humored us and let us come by today for a quick picture :>) He loved his little classmates, and I will miss seeing their cute smiling faces around. Hard to believe this kid will be starting kindergarten soon!
One of the funniest memories for me of this day after preschool Mrs. Rogers pulled me aside and said that after being provoked Carson hit one of the girls in class. In the car I said, "Carson, I heard that you hit someone today. That is not ok." He flat out denied it. I said, "Well, Mrs. Rogers said you did, and I don't think she is lying." He responded, "I didn't hit her, I punched her." Not any better bud, sorry.

Yesterday we went to Disneyland! We haven't been in 3 years, so it was time :>) When we first got there, Rich and I decided to divide and conquer. He took the boys on the Matterhorn and Star Tours, while the girls and I waited in a VERY slow moving line to see Tinkerbell. She is one of their favorites, and in line they were SO excited to go see her. Then it was our turn, and they got these big scowls on their faces and wanted nothing to do with her. Ha ha :>)
They cheered up fine afterwards though!!
We spent a good portion of the day waiting in lines, and my kids were a bit crazy!
We let it be a surprise where we were going, and all week the boys were trying to guess our destination. I said it was someplace really fun, and they immediately guessed Legoland. I told them it was probably MORE fun than Legoland. The first few rides, Brendan kept saying, This is fun, but not as fun as Legoland." Then we went to the Star Wars show. Brendan was the last one they picked to go up in the show (at which point Carson promptly burst into tears...sorry buddy!).
Pretty sure he will remember this moment for the rest of his life. All day he kept saying, "This is the best day of my life! Even better than Legoland!" Mission accomplished!
Because Rich likes to spoil our kids, they boys got to make a light saber afterwards. That finally got Carson to stop crying :>)
Later we got ready to go on Pirates of the Caribbean. Whitney couldn't join this picture...
because she was a little tired out! She woke up in the middle of the ride with the biggest eyes just trying to figure out what was going on ha ha!
Later we went to California Adventures. The boys went to wait in the LONG line for the Cars Land racing cars, and the girls and I went on some of the smaller rides. They loved the Mater ride, and their favorite was the Little Mermaid ride!
The only bummer of the day was when the Cars ride broke down after the boys waited 1 hr 15 minutes. So sad :<( We watched the awesome Pixar parade though and made friends with Mater!
One of everyone's favorites was the Toy Story ride.
It was a long day (filled with many moments like this!), but we had a great time.

My favorite part was going on the Tower of Terror with Brendan. We both screamed like little girls, and it was really fun! Hopefully it was a day they will all remember!

Ice Cream

Carson called up my mom and asked if she wanted to come to his last baseball game. She and Bob were free, so they came on down! Brendan had a game at 5 and Carson's was at 6, so there was plenty to see. Afterwards we went to McDonald's for ice cream. Carson takes longer than any person I have ever known to eat his cone, but my kids sure love it :>) And I love having my mom so close!

The Faire

Today we went to the local community fair. This was our fifth year going, and the kids always have a great time. We had already been to two baseball games in the morning (and the back of my neck was already sunburned), but we went anyways and had a great time! We look for the face painter every year, my boys love him.

The girls were big enough to get in on the action this year, and got Ariel and Tinkerbell (Sabrina got a bit of sunscreen in her eyes I think, and her little eyes were watering the whole time. Poor baby!). They all got a bath when we got home (because they were FILTHY!) and Whitney kept looking sadly down at her arm and saying, "Mermaid?" It is always sad when it washes off!
We ran into lots of friends while we were was nice to have people to hang out with in that nice long line :>)
The boys were excited to try on some of the sheriff's riot gear and climb in the back of their police car.
and of course "Stinky" is always a big hit!
Everyone's favorite part is always the snow cones though. I love that there are fun and free things like this to do in our community!

The Sweet Spot

All my kids like to eat. A lot. The twins are at the age now where they really like to sneak into food and hide it. Every time I can't find Whitney, it is safe to assume she is hiding behind the couch eating something she is not supposed to. She has upended boxes of cereal and eaten it off the floor. I have found here with a full sized candy bar in each hand going to town (and there have been a wide assortment of wrappers left behind the curtains). In this picture she is eating cheese out of the bag (and you can't see in the picture, but there is quite a bit on the floor as well). Bags of bread, bananas, leftovers out of the fridge, nothing is off the table for her apparently. I have learned to keep the fridge and pantry locked, but she still surprises me :>)
Sometimes she is joined by her partner in crime. These girls are crazy, but I love them!

A Little Late, but a Lot of Fun

Well this has been done since February, and I am finally getting around to posting pictures. When we bought this house, we were really excited about the yard. It was completely overgrown with weeds, but it was big and had a lot of potential. On the side yard, Rich really wanted to put in a basketball hoop. When we got our tax return this year, that is exactly what we did! We used a concrete guy from our ward, and he did a great job. We are super happy with it!

Carson helped Rich dig out the hole for the basketball hoop. That ground is HARD, and there was a jackhammer involved, thus the bike helmet. Safety first :>)
The concrete got poured the day after my birthday, and the kids were at my sister-in-law's house. I was kind of sad that the boys missed seeing the cement truck in our driveway (and that I didn't get little handprints in the concrete...we do want to re do our patio at some point though so maybe then!)

we had a couple families come over for FHE one night (aka manual labor) and they helped Rich put up the hoop. Our kids love it, and they are out there almost every day!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was nice this year. Church was at 8:30, but for once Rich didn't have to be there until 7:45 so he was around to help get the kids ready (which was wonderful!).
after getting a picture with my kids all dressed for church and me in my pjs, I figured I should get dressed too :>)
After church, my mom, Bob, and Amy and the kids came over for dinner. We had Cafe Rio knockoff food and I loved it :>) This day also marked our one year anniversary in our new house. Mother's Day last year was spent unpacking and trying to find stuff (and eating a frozen lasagna because our kitchen wasn't unpacked yet). This year was a little better :>)

Girl's Night

While the boys were gone camping, the girls had a fun night out! We went to the new Farrell's with some friends. I haven't been to one since I was a little kid, and it is a fun and crazy place!
the balloons were a lot of fun.
but our favorite part was the ice cream! All day the girls told anyone who would listen that we were getting ice cream that night :>)
they inhaled it pretty fast, I tried to worm my way in there too but it was difficult :>)
Afterwards we went to Niki's house and chatted while the kids played. There were some awesome tea parties going on upstairs with all the girls!

Father-Sons's Campout

My boys have been super excited to go camping with their Dad (well, actually I asked Carson if he wanted to go camping. He asked if Cooper would be there, I told him yes, and THEN he got really excited ha ha).Rich picked Brendan up from school early, they got McDonald's, and off they went to Lake Cayamuca. Fishing is one of the things they were most looking forward to (fishing, and lots of treats!).

The boys had lots of fun with their dad and their buddies. They came home filthy, and had a blast :>)
